As part of the village celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Bovingdon Parish Council will be hosting a Classic Car Show followed by the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon on Thursday, 2nd June from 12 noon until 10pm.
The Classic Car Show is for cars over 20 years old and will be held on Bovingdon Green from 12pm until 5pm. Numbers will be restricted so early booking is advised. If you would like to book tickets for this event you can do so via Eventbrite.
Following the Classic Car Show, there will be live music, entertainment and refreshments available on Bovingdon Green until the Jubilee Beacon lighting ceremony at 9.45pm.
In recognition of Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as our Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth, more than 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, and the Commonwealth. We would be delighted if you could join us to pay tribute to Her Majesty The Queen at this historic event. After the lighting of the beacon the St Lawrence Church Choir will sing the Jubilee Anthem and the days events will be rounded off by a fireworks display at 10pm.
We look forward to welcoming you to Bovingdon Green for what promises to be a very special day where our community can get together to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
