Remembrance Sunday 2020

Published: 12 October 2020

Dacorum Borough Council and the Royal British Legion, Hemel Branch, have made the difficult decision to not go ahead with this year’s Remembrance Sunday event. After fully considering the risks, we have decided that we are unable to ensure everyone’s safety, in line with the current Government guidance and regulations, due to the large numbers we normally welcome on the occasion.

However, we are keen to ensure that the Act of Remembrance is still acknowledged within the Borough, as we recognise its importance. In order to do this, we would like to put together a video with messages and images from people/organisations throughout the Dacorum community. Each quote can only be 30 words long, in order to ensure it is readable in the video and can be submitted with or without images (JPEG or PNG Format) to accompany it. All information should be submitted to with the heading Act of Remembrance, Video Submission.

This video will be accessible via the DBC website and social media page as well as on the screen in the town centre. We will send out a link to everyone who has made a submission, once the video is live. All images and words need to be submitted by Friday, 23rd October. Any submitted after this point, may not be included in the video due to time constraints.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Mayoral Team at Dacorum Borough Council on 01442 228000.
